Everything is better on a stick

Birthdays.  And more specifically kids birthday parties.  Of course there is cake, and all the normal party food, but a great chance to revisit your child hood and make all those things that Mum used to make when you were a kid.

Lucy and her cake

Last year we did the fairy bread, the cheerios, this year it was time to snap crackle and pop, and rock out the rice bubble squares and chocolate crackle.  Of course, rice bubble squares on their own, wouldn’t be fitting for a princess party.  They have to be slightly pink, and pretty.  So I took this opportunity to flash them up a bit, and came up with what can only be rice bubble squares, on a stick.

Lots were gobbled enthusiastically.  There were some that made it into work for morning tea,  compliments were flying, and many wanted the recipe.  So there you have it.  If you want something that is quick and easy, and looks a real treat, this is the ticket.  Not the healthiest thing in the world, and most definitely not a breakfast food, however they are perfect for that little Princess in your life (& all her friends), or beautiful displayed sticking out of vases of rice, for a garden party/afternoon tea.
