Dessert with a difference
If you like dessert, and you like cocktails, then why not try something different? Recently on a girls night out I got introduced to the concept of Dessert Cocktails, and all I can say is WOW!! There is a bar in town called The Library that specialises in dessert cocktails and of course while we were there we had to partake in the experience, it would be rude not to. I must say it’s a great way to finish off a meal, and a great way to make money if you own a bar.
Being the person that is keen to experiment on things, and liking the idea of trying to replicate something I have seen out at home, I thought we’d give it a go.
Pretty good for a first effort I think.
I call it my Lemon Meringue Pie Martini. It contains Vanilla Vodka, Triple Sec, lemon curd, lemon juice ice cubes and a floating meringue on top (soft). Just to make sure I got it right I made it two nights in a row, with the excuse of experimenting with the meringue, first a poached (floating island style) and the second night a “raw” Italian Meringue pipped on the top. The jury is still out as to which one I like the best, they both have such different and great qualities, so it can be up to you how you make it.
