Gold Medal Inspired Cupcakes

We were off to close friends for lunch today.  I hate turning up empty-handed, so I whipped up a batch of cupcakes, inspired by the Gold Medals the awesome Kiwi Rowing Contingent won at the London Games last night.

In the spirit of trying something new I went for Vanilla – and extra vanilla they were, yum!!

Not much more to say, I decorated them simply with Gold coloured Vanilla Buttercream Icing and dusted them with Gold Dusting Powder and Rainbow Iridescent Glitter Powder.

They went down a treat, even hubby said “I’m not normally a cupcake sort of man, but for those I could be converted”, that’s saying something.

Thanks for having us Mr & Mrs G!

Here is the recipe, go for Gold!

The slice of ham in the bottom of the cc just had the perfect amount of meat for me 😜

    1. Funny, you always complain there is never enough meat in my baking 🙂
